Whilst this list is by no means exhaustive, it can provide you with some extremely valuable further information about specific breeds, or services that dogs give us. It’s been broken down into different sections for different countries.
Dog Associations in the UK
The Kennel Club
The Kennel Club is the biggest organization in the United Kingdom, solely devoted to the protection and welfare of all dogs. You can also check their voluntary register for crossbreeds and pedigrees. Alongside this, they have a wealth of information about all things dog and puppy – from buying, to training, breeding and beyond.
The Dog Breeders Association
The Dog Breeders Association offers information and advise to dog breeders. It can help them advertise their puppies, offers insurance, and will help with day to day practical advice as well.
Search and Rescue Dog Association
SARDA stands for the Search and Rescue Dog Association. It was formed in 1965 by in Scotland by the team leader of the Glencoe Mountain Rescue team. They train search and rescue dogs to find lost and injured people. The work they do with their dogs can really save lives.
The Association of Pet Dog Trainers
The Association of Pet Dog Trainers are a voluntary organization that provide dog owners with educational resources to train their pets. They promote a kind, fair and effective form of training that supports all involved.
The Dogs Trust
The Dogs Trust has been around for a long time in the UK, since 1981. Their goal is to work towards a future where all dogs are happy and can live without the threat of unneeded destruction.
Assistance Dogs UK
Assistance dogs completely transform peoples’ lives. Assistance Dogs UK is a combination of eight assistance dog charities that have over 7000 people relying on the help of their dogs for practical tasks.
Guide Dogs have a vision where people in society with poor eyesight or are blind can enjoy the same freedom as everyone else. They hope to do this by providing a guide dog, and other mobility services.

The American Kennel Club
The American Kennel Club was founded way back in 1884. Throughout this time they have championed dog health and well being, protected their rights and fought for responsible dog ownership. It is a recognized and trusted source of information for dog related queries.
The United States War Dogs Association
The United States War Dogs Association is a nonprofit organization that promotes and supports the lives of military service dogs. They make memorials and educate the public about the service these dogs give.
The Canaan Dog Club of America
The Canaan Dog Club of America was established to promote the pedigree breeding of Canaan Dogs. It is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1965, when the first four Canaan Dogs arrived in the US.
The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America
The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America was established in appreciation of the Bernese Mountain Dog. They provide education on breeding, training, and health issues.
American Canine Association
ACA stands for the American Canine Association. They hold two registries, one to track dog health and the other for the different breeds within America. Alongside that, they put on dog competitions and shows.
United States Dog Agility Association
The United States Dog Agility Association is an independent organisation promoting dog agility as a sport. It has over 40,000 registered competitors and over 200 breeds of dogs.
Association of Professional Dog Trainers
The Association of Professional Dog Trainers is for dog trainers of all levels of experience. Alongside that, they can help people find trainers for their dogs, and help provide qualification for trainers.
